Coffee Filter 2.0 - WIP

Instead of making me revise my previous drawing, my instructor asked me to make a new drawing of the coffee filter. So I did. Its still a WIP, but it's nearly there.
I like this one better, I think. The edges seem sharper. I need to tweak it just a bit, but it's still looks really good to me. Which is unusual. I only spent an hour on it. I kind of feel like I'm cheating.

Revised final drawing - Art 4B

Final drawing done in pastel for Art 4B. Added more lost edges, more color, did a better job of editing the levels and curves in Photoshop. Could use a better crop, but I'm too lazy to do that at the moment. Maybe I'll do it when I make prints, which I plan on doing.

Recent works

Copy of a still life by Courbet. Original image can be found here.

I can draw green apples. I like the stroke work on this one.

I can also draw red apples.

Lemon & Orange

An orange I drew. It's alright. The shadows were giving me trouble.

A lemon I drew with pastels. I'm getting better at this, I swear. I drew this before the orange/lemon still life. I should probably spend more time each week practicing.

I've also found that drawing from pictures is easier than drawing from life. Go figure. Again, I probably just need to practice.

Art 4B - Still Life

Pastel still life of 2 lemons and an orange I made for my drawing class.

Art 4B lesson revision

These look much better than the first attempt, I think.

I think I might crop the images a bit, but I'm satisfied with the shading and gradations that I got.
